Dominant Ducati Riders at the Beginning of MotoGP 2023

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

The racers riding the Ducati showed their dominance at the start of the 2023 MotoGP season.

Even though Pecco Bagnaia finished in 16th place and Enea Bastianini did not appear at the Argentina MotoGP due to a fracture, the Ducati satellite racers were able to make a splash. The podium positions were occupied by Marco Bezzecchi, Johann Zarco and Alex Marquez who all rode on Ducati.

When counting the initial series, only Maverick Vinales was automatically riding Aprilia as the only racer outside of Ducati users who was able to get on the podium. In the first series, Pecco Bagnaia won the first podium and Bezzecchi won the third podium.

This impressive performance then had an impact on the 2023 MotoGP standings. The top four riders in the standings, namely Bezzecchi (50 points), Bagnaia (41), Zarco (35) and Alex Marquez (33) all use Ducati.

In MotoGP 2023, apart from factory Ducati, there are three other satellite teams that use Ducati motorbikes. The three teams are Prima Pramac Racing, Gresini Racing MotoGP, and Mooney VR46 Racing Team. Thus there are a total of eight racers riding the Ducati in a race.

Meanwhile, other teams, namely Honda, Aprilia and KTM, only have one satellite team outside the factory team so that a total of four riders use these motorbikes. Meanwhile there are no satellite teams using Yamaha motorbikes in MotoGP this season.

Ducati’s test to be able to display a competitive motorbike will be presented at the American MotoGP on April 16. Last season, Bastianini, who is still defending Gresini Racing, was able to finish in first place and Jack Miller was in third place.
