“For tomorrow (today) we have to be even more prepared from the start of the match. Hopefully we can give our best,” said Praveen.
The pair, who are currently under the guidance of PB Djarum, admitted that the semifinal match was quite tough. Praveen/Melati beat Thyrri/Magelund in the 2021 Sudirman Cup in two games, but yesterday the two needed three games lasting 54 minutes to end the pair’s resistance
“We are grateful that we were able to get through today’s match (yesterday) with a win. We are also grateful that we were able to get out of the opponent’s pressure,” Praveen explained as quoted by PB Djarum.
The 2023 Spain Masters final will be the first final for Praveen/Melati since 2021. In the past year, the pair, nicknamed Pramel or honey couple by Indonesian badminton lovers, has been absent more and more.
Praveen’s injury condition made both of them have to rest long. Praveen/Melati have just returned to compete at the 2023 Indonesia Masters after the last time competing at the 2022 Indonesia Masters.
If they can become champions, then the 2023 Spain Masters title will be the first for Praveen/Melati since All England 2020
