An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 rocked Ternate, North Maluku, on Sunday (2/4) midnight.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that the earthquake occurred at 23.34 WIB.
The coordinates of the earthquake were located at 1.05 North Latitude and 126.93 East Longitude, 57 kilometers to the Northwest of Ternate.

The earthquake was at a depth of 20 kilometers.
BMKG emphasized that this information is still based on preliminary data.
“This information prioritizes speed, so the results of data processing are not stable and may change as the completeness of the data,” the BMKG said on Twitter.
