Gresini Racing MotoGP racer Alex Marquez managed to become the fastest in Qualification 2 (Q2) MotoGP Argentina 2023, Saturday (1/4).
Previously, in Qualification 1 (Q1) of the 2023 MotoGP Argentina at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit, Saturday (1/4) evening, Gresini Racing racer Alex Marquez came out as the fastest.
Alex Marquez recorded the best time in Q1 with a record of 1 minute 47.317. However, Alex Marquez’s motorbike caught fire in the last minute of Q1 after falling at corner 13.

However, Alex Marquez was not injured as a result of the fire on his motorbike. He was immediately piggybacked by the Marshal to the paddock and was delighted because after seeing the results on the monitor he was the fastest in Q1.
Alex Marquez was followed by Yamaha racer Fabio Quartararo who recorded a time of 1 minute 47.385. Due to finishing in first and second positions, both drivers are entitled to participate in Qualification 2 (Q2) which takes place after Q1.
In Q1, which lasted 15 minutes, Prima Pramac Racing racer Johann Zarco started qualifying with the fastest time of 1 minute 46.834 seconds.
Zarco’s record time is attached to Aprilia Racing racer Maverick Vinales with a difference of 0.231 seconds and Yamaha racer Franco Morbidelli with a gap of 0.248 seconds.
Meanwhile, in the eighth minute, Aprilia Racing racer Aleix Espargaro almost fell after experiencing a highside at turn 14. Luckily, Espargaro was able to maintain the balance of the motorbike so he didn’t have an accident.
Until Q2 left the last two minutes Zarco, Vinales and Morbidelli still led the record for the fastest time. With one minute left, Morbidelli overtook Zarco’s record time with 1 minute 45.582 seconds.
Zarco is now in second place followed by Aleix Espargaro in third. While Quartararo is in seventh position and Francesco Bagnaia is in tenth position.
In the last minute of Q2 Alex Marquez brilliantly managed to record the fastest time of 1 minute 43.881 seconds followed by Marco Bezzecchi with 1 minute 44.055 seconds
Then Francesco Bagnaia was in third place. Meanwhile, Quartararo is in 10th position.
This result allows Alex Marquez to start at the forefront in the Sprint Race and the 2023 Argentina MotoGP race.
The 2023 Argentina MotoGP Sprint Race will be held on Sunday (2/4) in the morning at 01.00 WIB. While the Argentina MotoGP race will start at 24.00 WIB on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Argentina MotoGP will not feature a number of well-known racers. Marc Marquez, Enea Bastianini, Pol Espargaro and Miguel Oliveira are confirmed to be absent due to injury.
Pol Espargaro had an accident in Portugal MotoGP free practice, Bastianini was injured in the Portuguese MotoGP Sprint Race, while Marquez and Oliveira were absent due to injuries received after a collision in last Sunday’s race.
