“For the implementation of the U-20 at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we have implemented a small part, because it is for renting lawn mowers, lawn mowers, and national training,” said Gunawan.
“The rest has not been implemented. So later we will have a cut off and cancellation of the FIFA cancellation letter,” he added.
Gunawan acknowledged that the value that had been spent was in the billions of rupiah, but he had not yet explained the detailed calculation.
“I will calculate it later. There is a rent for cutting the grass for IDR 20 billion, but this has not been paid. If it’s not all of it later, we can negotiate later, we will cut it,” said Gunawan.
Regarding the transfer of the budget, Gunawan stated that he could not comment on this because he was still waiting for Indonesia to hold another international level match.
On Wednesday (29/3) evening, FIFA confirmed that the 2023 U-20 World Cup would not be held in Indonesia. The polemic over the continuation of the junior World Cup has erupted since last week after FIFA canceled the drawing which was planned to take place in Bali on Friday 31 March 2023.
