Rins uses Marc Marquez's motorbike at the Argentina MotoGP

Until now, the prototypes used by satellite racers to compete were always one or two steps behind the motorbikes ridden by Marquez. However, the 30-year absence from Termas de Río Hondo will allow Rins to inherit the latest chassis specifications chosen by rider #93.

“Because Marc wasn’t there, Honda allowed me to use the chassis he was using. This is a small evolution compared to mine. We’ll see,” said Alex Rins, last Thursday. As there are only three Honda riders, he and his team-mates face a very hectic program starting Friday.

As well as preparing to try to break into the top ten group, driver number 42 will have to compare the two different RC213V models he will have in his garage.

“We will use two motorbikes, one like the one used in Portimao and a new one. We will make comparisons. We have time on Friday to draw conclusions,” he said.

“At least we have a lot of things to try, but it is clear that this will change the approach to the Grand Prix a little bit.”

After his first Grand Prix on a bike other than the Suzuki, the Spaniard highlighted traction problems and the bike’s lack of top speed, which forced him to take risks when applying the brakes, with the danger this entailed.

“There will always be a risk in braking. We can’t get out of the corner quickly, and that directly affects the speed on the straight, so we have to recover,” said Rins.
