Dito Mahendra Absent Examination on Illegal Firearms Cases

Bareskrim Polri said Dito Mahendra was absent from the summons of investigators regarding the case of alleged possession of illegal firearms. Dito was supposed to be investigated to explore the origins of possession of these weapons.

“We have invited clarification, he was not present. Just investigated, there was no attempt to force him to pick him up,” said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro, when confirmed, Thursday (30/3).

Djuhandhani confirmed that from the results of the inspection that had been carried out, 9 out of the 15 firearms in Dito Mahendra’s house did not have permits.

“From the results of the data collection, it was found that 9 types of firearms were illegal or not equipped with documents/licences,” he said.

Furthermore, Djuhandhani explained that the investigation was carried out based on the police report Number: LP/A/1/III/2023/Dit Tipidum Bareskrim. dated March 24, 2023.

In the model A report, said Djuhandani, Dito was named the reported party and allegedly violated Article 1 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning possession of firearms.

“Currently the investigation is still being investigated by members of the Directorate of General Crimes,” he said.

The nine types of illegal firearms are 1 Glock 17 Pistol, 1 S&W Revolver, 1 Glock 19 Zev Pistol, 1 Angstatd Arms Pistol, and 1 Heckler & Koch MP 5 Pistol.

Meanwhile, the rest were of rifle type with details of 1 Noveske Refleworks rifle, 1 AK 101 rifle, 1 Heckler & Koch G 36 rifle, and 1 Walther air rifle.

Previously, the KPK found 15 firearms when they searched Dito Mahendra’s house on Monday (13/3). The guns found in Dito’s house ranged from glock types to long barrels.

The search of Dito Mahendra’s house was related to the investigation into the alleged corruption and money laundering case of former Supreme Court (MA) Secretary Nurhadi Abdurrachman.
