Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

Qunut prayer can be read when performing the Subuh prayer. The following is the procedure for the morning prayer with qunut, accompanied by the reading of the prayer.

Qunut prayer is a prayer that has been passed down in Islam. This means sunnah, this prayer adds a reward if it is recited but does not cancel the prayer if it is left.

It’s just that, reciting the qunut prayer during the morning prayer is a good practice that the Prophet SAW never abandoned during his life.

This is stated in the Al-Adzkar Book by Muhyiddin Yahya bin Syaraf as quoted from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) as follows.

Know that Qunoot in the morning prayer is Sunnah due to the authentic hadeeth in it on the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, continued to do Qunoot in the morning prayer until he left this world. It was narrated by Al-Hakim Abu Abdullah in the Book of Forty, and he said it is an authentic hadith

Meaning: Qunut for the morning prayer is sunnah based on the authentic hadith from Anas that the Prophet SAW always qunut until he died. Hadith narrated by Hakim Abu Abdullah in the book of Arba’in. He said, it is authentic hadith.

When reciting the qunut prayer, the priest is advised to raise his voice and the congregation agrees with it. Then, both hands are raised like saying a prayer in general.

Generally, the qunut prayer is recited in the Fajr prayer in the second cycle. Precisely, after doing bowing and iktidal. This is stated in the hadith narrated by Muslim as follows.

“On the authority of Muhammad bin Sirin, who said: I asked Anas bin Malik: Did the Messenger of God recite qunut in the morning prayer?” He replied: Yes, after bowing for a while.”

However, some read it before bowing in the second rakaat.
