Official: Persija vs Persib at Patriot Stadium without spectators

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

The postponed match of Week 28 of League 1 2022/2023 between Persija Jakarta vs Persib Bandung will be presented at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, Friday (31/3).

However, the match will be held without spectators present. Both from Persib and Persija supporters as the host.

This policy was taken after considering the decision of the Patriot Stadium management. They recommended using the stadium but without the presence of spectators on both sides.

Previously, Persija had tried to host Persib at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta. However, until Tuesday (28/3) the stadium management had not received the green light.

Persija then moved quickly to find a replacement venue. Patriot Stadium, which has been the home of the Kemayoran Tigers, has finally been confirmed as the home for Maung Bandung.

Originally, the Persija vs Persib match was scheduled to take place on March 4 2023. However, this event had to be postponed because Persija as the host did not receive permission from the proposed venue manager.

The postponement of the match was decided after Persija’s management submitted a request for rescheduling to LIB. Persija failed to use the two proposed stadiums as team headquarters to host Persib.

At Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, Persija did not get permission from local security. Meanwhile, Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, cannot be used because other agendas have been scheduled that have been agreed long ago.
