Inspector General Akhmad Wiyagus, Previously Served at the Corruption Eradication Commission Now West Java Regional Police Chief

Inspector General Akhmad Wiyagus has now been appointed as West Java Regional Police Chief. He left his position as Lampung Police Chief and replaced the position of Inspector General Suntana. Wiyagus, who graduated from the Police Academy in 1989, has held a number of positions in the Bhayangkara Corps.

He is known to have served as Wadirtipidkor Bareskrim Polri. Wiyagus has also been entrusted with the position of Director of Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police.

While serving as Dirtipidkor Bareskrim Polri, Wiyagus has handled a number of corruption cases. Among them, the payment gateway corruption case to the Gedebage Stadium corruption case.

Wiyagus has also occupied two deputy regional police positions, namely Maluku deputy police chief and West Java deputy police chief.

After that, Wiyagus was appointed to serve as the Head of the Gorontalo Regional Police. Finally, he served as the Lampung Regional Police Chief before finally being trusted to become the West Java Regional Police Chief.

It was noted that Wiyagus had also been assigned outside the Polri institution, namely as Director of Community Complaints at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

As a member of the National Police, this man who was born on September 23, 1967 was awarded the 2022 Hoegeng Awards in the Police with Integrity category.

The appointment of Wiyagus as the West Java Regional Police Chief was based on the Telegram from the Chief of Police with number ST/713/III/KEP./2023 dated March 27 2023 which was signed by the Deputy Chief of Police Komjen Gatot Eddy Pramono.

The Telegram letter has been confirmed by the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedy Prasetyo. He said job transfers were commonplace for the Police.
