When the body adjusts to a new diet during fasting, be careful with conditions of hypotension or low blood pressure during fasting.

If not treated promptly, this condition can become severe enough to cause fainting and may require you to break your fast.
Here are some ways you can do to prevent low blood pressure during fasting.
Causes of low blood when fasting:
1. Get enough sleep
During Ramadan, try to sleep at least 6-8 hours every night. Launching the Saudi German Health page, lack of sleep can cause hypotension or low blood pressure.
2. Don’t miss sahur
During fasting, the body needs enough energy to do all day activities. In order to get extra energy so that the body is not weak, it is better not to skip the meal because this can make it difficult for you to fast all day and cause hypotension.
3. Drink more water at dawn and breaking the fast
People who are fasting certainly cannot drink water as freely as usual. Lack of water and salt levels in the body can cause decreased blood pressure and dehydration.
Drink at least 2-3 liters of water during the period between Suhoor and Iftar. This will prepare the body for the next hours of fasting.
4. Eat vegetables and fruit at dawn and breaking the fast
Eat fruits and vegetables that are rich in dietary fiber. Fruits and vegetables store water which helps replenish body fluids and prevents dehydration and hypotension.
5. Drink caffeine
The reason is, caffeinated drinks can help prevent a decrease in blood pressure. But with a note, excessive intake can cause a diuretic effect and cause dehydration and hypotension.
6. Avoid sun exposure
When fasting, avoid exposure to direct sunlight for long periods of time because high temperatures can cause excessive sweating, causing loss of body fluids which results in dehydration and hypotension.
