The Steam Support page advises users to update to a newer version of Windows, especially Windows 10 and Windows 11, to enjoy the Steam Client, Library, Workshop, and Community Forums.

So for those of you who haven’t upgraded to Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 systems, upgrade immediately to 10 or 11 before you can no longer access the features in Steam.
