“This match is good and can be an experience for our young players, we also recognize Indonesia’s strength,” said Etienne Ndayiragije in a press conference after the match.
“They play as a team, are more organized, and you can see their game organization is better than ours, they can also take advantage of opportunities better,” added Etienne Ndayiragije.
In this match, the Indonesian national team won 1-0 in the 61st minute through Witan Sulaeman’s flick after following Dendy Sulistyawan’s cross.
But Burundi managed to equalize to 1-1 through Saido Berahino in the 80th minute.
Even Burundi had led 2-1 after scoring the second goal through Abedi Bigirimana in the 90th minute.
But Indonesia managed to equalize to 2-2 through Jordi Amat’s header.
“We ended the game well, no players were injured. I also want to thank Indonesia, the journalists too, we are happy because while in Indonesia we were greeted a lot, I played a lot of young players in this match,” said Etienne Ndayiragije.
“Throughout the match, they developed. We also applied high pressure in this match, we scored two goals, created many chances, and indeed the problem with these young players is that they still have to improve how they take advantage of the opportunities that exist to score goals,” added Etienne Ndayiragije.
