Jakarta — PT Prestige Renault Indonesia (PRI) officially launched the Renault Megane E-Tech electric car at the Prestige Pluit showroom, Monday (27/3/2023).
Renault Megane E-Tech, which is sold at IDR 1.375 billion (OTR Jakarta) has the status of Completely Built Up / CBU) from France.
This electric car carries a typical European premium crossover style.
According to data on paper, this car has a maximum power of 220 hp and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
Apart from its impressive acceleration capabilities, Renault also claims that the Megane can cover a distance of 450 km on a single full charge.
This of course makes this electric car an attractive choice for long trips considering that the public testing infrastructure is not evenly distributed in Indonesia.
Regarding features, the Renault Megane E-Tech is the only car that has an intelligent operating system that is directly integrated with Google.
Not to be overlooked, the security sector of this car is claimed to have a safety system of 22 Advanced Driving Assistance Systems.
With the Renault Megane E-Tech officially being sold on the market, PT PRI President Director Rudy Salim also revealed that this electric car can be ordered and rotated for 45 days.
“Actually there have been quite a lot of orders since 2 weeks ago, not even hundreds, dozens (units),” said Rudy.
However, he also said that the Renault Megane E-Tech pivot could take longer if the number of customers increases.
This Renault Megane electric car can be directly ordered offline at all official Renault dealers throughout Indonesia and online through Tokopedia Prestige Renault Indonesia.
For consumers who buy a Renault Megane, they will get free service and a 2-year warranty.
Renault Optimism in Indonesia
Seeing the official tag of the Renault Megane E-Tech which is included in the premium or luxury electric car category, Rudy remains optimistic that he will be able to achieve the highest sales target.
“The luxury car market is now starting to return to normal as before the Covid-19 pandemic, and sales tend to increase during the pandemic,” he said.
When asked whether the presence of Megane E-Tech seemed to signal the presence of other Renault electric cars in Indonesia, Rudy did not deny it.
“Indeed, the vision of Renault in Indonesia will focus on all electricity,” said Rudy.
“There will be global products that want to leave (in Indonesia) we plan for semester 2,” he concluded.
