Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

Regarding the dreamy mukena, of course this is inappropriate and not worthy of being worn during prayer.

The essence of the mukena is to cover the genitals in the form of the shape of the body and also the twists and turns of the (shape) of the body. For this reason, the mukena must not be see-through and (must) cover all limbs.

Sometimes, there are (mukena) materials that are not thin, not see-through, but stick to the body. Then some of the limbs will show twists and turns, so this is inappropriate.

So we avoid everything on the market, which doesn’t suit us. At the market they want to sell, sometimes the material is very economical, it can be short, it can be thin, it can be very unfit for prayer, but it is sold. Then not everything that is sold we have to buy.

Remember that when praying, we face Allah SWT and guidance on clothing, the female genitalia are in the Al-Quran:

And not to display their adornment except that which is apparent.

(Part of QS An-Nur verse 31)

This means that women do not display jewelry, whether it is on their bodies or excessive jewelry, except for those that are visible, for example, a ring is okay in everyday life. But during prayer, we cover everything that cannot be seen.

So thus, the mukena is see-through, especially for those who don’t wear the headscarf, have long or short hair, or (wear) short sleeves, so that (when) wearing the mukena their limbs are visible.

Take a safe, standard mukena. We show tawadhu so that prayers can be solemn. Not the branded, lightweight, or flimsy ones.

We complete the salat by using the proper mukena.

Thereby,

Wassalamualaikum Wr. Wb.
