The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted that the earthquake occurred at 22.53 WIB.
The point of the earthquake was at 4.25 North Latitude, 126.46 East Longitude or 36 kilometers northwest of Melonguane.
The earthquake was at a depth of 104 km.
