After a long hiatus without a story, it has been confirmed today that The Raid will be getting a remake set to hit Netflix. However, there are several names that immediately catch the eye of the producer. The Raid Remake will be handled by director Gareth Evans who handled the first The Raid film and The Raid 2 as the main producer, and will be assisted by Michael Bay as the second producer.
According to reports, the remake will be directed by Patrick Hughes, who worked on The Expendables 3, Hitman’s Bodyguard and is currently filming The Man From Toronto with Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson.

According to reports from Deadline, this remake will be a reimagining of the first film, and is set in the city of Philadelphia, with a similar format but will carry the original flavor of the first film.
However, there is still no confirmation whether the cast from the first film will return or not. Rumors circulated that later the protagonist of the first film, Iko Uwais would return to be Action Director, but there has been no official confirmation from Iko or Netflix.
