Reported from IGN SEA, Mala Petaka is a new FPS arcade genre game, made using the open source engine, namely GZDoom. This game was created by an Indonesian pixel artist named Sanditio Bayu. To evoke nostalgia for 90s FPS players, Bayu creates a more immersive gaming experience, uses his signature pixel art, and creates his own brand of chiptune music.
Through Mala Petaka, players will take on the role of a hero who suffers from amnesia named Petaka. Players will also be presented with various types of weapons. Ranging from classic plasma rifles to grenade launchers. Not fully using long-range weapons, players can rely on the strength of their bare hands when facing enemies at close range.
This game presents four chapters, where each chapter will feature five missions for players to conquer. In addition, Mala Calamity has six difficulty modes with additional modes known as Mahadeva and Calamity modes. For interested players, the Mala Petaka demo can be played now on the game’s Itch.io website.
