Currently the Lombok Airport passenger terminal has been expanded to 43,501 square meters with a capacity of 7 million passengers per year. Previously, the airport was only 24,123 square meters with a capacity of 3.25 million passengers per year.
The Lombok Airport Apron can now accommodate 16 aircraft with a configuration of 10 aircraft narrow body and 6 planes wide body, while the runway is ready to support the operation of wide-body aircraft like the Boeing 777. For information, the 3,300-meter long runway owned by Lombok Airport is the fifth longest runway in Indonesia.
In addition to preparing in terms of air connectivity, Angkasa Pura I has also prepared risk mitigation to anticipate potential risks that may occur and may affect the continuity of the event. Such as, excess capacity, bad weather that causes the plane to be unable to land.
The mitigation concept is a One Day Trip in the Triangle Area of Lombok Airport – I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport – Bali – Juanda Airport, Surabaya which includes various mitigation efforts such as repositioning aircraft parking in case of excess capacity in the aircraft parking configuration on the Lombok Airport apron. Too alternate aerodrome if Lombok Airport is not operating due to bad weather or things that have the potential to block the runway, as well as coordinating with the airline regarding the proposal to increase the number of airline aircraft, fleet management, aircraft rotation, readiness of ground handling operators serving the triangle routes.
