REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKABUMI — The Sukabumi City Covid-19 Task Force has accelerated the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years. This is done by massively vaccinating schools.
This was conveyed by the Mayor of Sukabumi Achmad Fahmi on the sidelines of reviewing the Covid-19 vaccination activities for children 6-11 years old at SDN Subangjaya 3 Subangjaya Village, Cikole District, Friday (7/1). On this occasion, the mayor was accompanied by the Head of the Sukabumi City PKK Mobilization Team, Fitri Hayati Fahmi.
“Efforts to accelerate vaccination continue, especially for children aged 6-11 years,” said Mayor of Sukabumi, Achmad Fahmi.
In early January 2022, the vaccination site was brought closer to children at school. So that children accompanied by their parents can easily reach the vaccination location. Because vaccination activities are held in their respective schools.
This vaccination, continued Fahmi, is an effort to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19. In addition, by continuing to intensify health protocol education to residents.
Previously, Sukabumi City kicked off the Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years at the Sukabumi City Public Madrasah (MIN) in Gang Rawasalak, Sriwedari Village, Gunungpuyuh District, last Wednesday 22 December 2021. This Kick Off marks child vaccination ages 6-11 years with a target of 33,805 children.
The type of vaccine used is Sinovac and will continue until January 2022. Therefore, Fahmi asks for support from mothers and fathers and other elements in mobilizing children to carry out vaccinations.
Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Sukabumi City Health Office, Lulis Delawati, added that this vaccination target was for 33,805 children set by the Committee for Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 and National Economic Recovery. Where on this Friday there were 16 schools that held vaccinations for children.

Lulis revealed that the type of vaccine used for children 6-11 years old is Sinovac. The vaccine used is Sinovac which already has an Emergency Use Authorization or EUA permit from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency or BPOM and a recommendation from the National Immunization Expert Advisory Committee (Indonesian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization/ITAGI).
On the other hand, Lulis said that the interval for administering dose 1 and dose 2 was 28 days and must be preceded by a health screening process in accordance with the standard format that has been applied. In addition, efforts to anticipate the occurrence of Adverse Events after Immunization or AEFI are implemented.
