ASUS at CES 2022 just introduced the ROG Strix Flare II Animate, a mechanical keyboard that gets its name from its built-in LED display, which can play animations or display a logo, similar to the dot-matrix display built into some high-end ROG laptops.

Asus calls this technology the AniMe Matrix LED display, which can be customized to show all sorts of things like custom images and animations, or even system info like battery life, time, and date, and even audio visualizations. This keyboard will be priced at $220 or around 3.1 million rupiah, which is indeed more expensive than the previous model.
The ROG Strix Flare II Animate not only has 312 mini-LED display lighting, Asus has also added an RGB strip at the bottom. The technical specifications are no less interesting, namely with a polling rate of 8000Hz, USB 2.0 passthrough, PBT Double-shot keycaps, sound-absorbing foam, and media controls in the form of knobs, scrollwheels, and buttons. The Animate also comes with Cherry MX Blue, Brown, or Red switches. The switches are also hotswapable, so users can switch switches depending on their preferences.
If you don’t like the luxury or the price of this Animate keyboard, Asus will also sell the standard Strix Flare II for $180. Of course it comes with a lot of circumcision features, such as not having many switch options, not hotswap, and can’t come with Cherry switches. Of course, the most obvious is the absence of the AniMe matrix screen which is replaced with the ROG RGB logo.
