The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta said the transmission of Covid-19 in the capital city was under control.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, said: Covid-19 in the capital is under control. Riza said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) was trying to reduce the transmission of Omicron within two weeks, as requested by the Central Government Covid-19 Task Force.
“But Alhamdulillah, in DKI Jakarta, Covid-19 is quite under control,” said Riza at the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Wednesday (5/1).
Riza continued, although there have been some increases in omicron, so far there have been no casualties as a result. According to the chairman of the DPD Gerindra DKI, the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will also continue to be committed to ensuring that various hospital facilities can be fulfilled.
“We hope in the future, this case can also go down soon. For that, of course everything will return to us,” he said.
Riza added, until now bed occupancy ratio (BOR) or bed occupancy in DKI increased to seven percent, from previously only four percent. While the ICU is filled about five percent.
“This is our common concern,” he said.
For information, Riza said, there were 90 additional cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in DKI in the last 24 hours. The total number of about 252 people, he said, all of them are now at the Wisma Atlet and RSPI Sulianti Saroso.
“Of the imported cases, 239 cases, local transmission 13 cases. All of them are at Wisma Atlet, and RSPI Soeroso,” Riza said when met at City Hall, Tuesday night.
Previously, the National Covid-19 Task Force asked the DKI Provincial Government, through DKI Governor Anies Baswedan, to deal with the increase in Covid-19 cases. The Task Force asked the Governor of Riau Islands to do the same thing.
“The Governor of DKI will follow up immediately in the next two weeks,” said Head of the Covid-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, Tuesday (5/1).
