Coach Indonesian National team Shin Tae Yong admitted that he was amazed by the fans who came to the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday (2/1) afternoon.
The South Korean coach uploaded photos and videos on his Instagram account when the Indonesian national team supporters sang in front of the hotel where the players were undergoing quarantine after returning from Singapore.
In his upload, Shin Tae Yong thanked the fans who had given an extraordinary welcome to the arrival of the Indonesian national team yesterday.
“Thank you very much to Indonesian football fans. This moment will definitely be a hope and for the players who have worked hard to the end. Thank you,” wrote Shin Tae Yong in his Instagram account, Monday (3/1).
Dozens of Indonesian national team supporters visited the Sultan Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, where the Indonesian national team players and officials underwent quarantine after appearing at the 2020 AFF Cup which was held in Singapore.
The Indonesian national team players landed at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Sunday (2/1) at 13.30 WIB.
The Indonesian national team players went directly to the Sultan Hotel to carry out a 10-day quarantine period.
Arriving at the Sultan Hotel at 15.30 WIB, the players and officials received a welcome from PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan.
Then when the players and officials of the Indonesian national team entered their respective rooms, a surprise came from the supporters who were present in front of the hotel.
Dozens of people wearing black clothes carrying the red and white flag sang the slogan for the Indonesian national team. They also carried a large banner that read ‘We Proud of You’ or ‘we are proud of you’.
The Indonesian national team finished as runner-up in the 2020 AFF Cup after losing to Thailand in the final on Wednesday (29/12) and Saturday (1/1).
In the two-legged match, Indonesia lost on aggregate with a score of 2-6. The Garuda squad lost in the first leg with a score of 0-4 and drew 2-2 in the second leg.
