A number of airlines in the United States (US) canceled hundreds of flights again on Saturday (25/12) due to staff shortages due to Covid-19. The move disrupted holidays in one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
flight tracker site, FlightAware, noting nearly 1,000 planes entering, leaving or within the US, were canceled Saturday (25/12). That number is up from 690 flights that were canceled on Friday (24/12).
More than 250 more flights have been canceled for Sunday (26/12).
FlightAware did not say why the flights were cancelled.
Delta, United and JetBlue on Friday (12/24) all said the Omicron variant caused staffing problems that led to flight cancellations.
