Singapore – Porsche Asia Pacific officially cooperates with the SP Group. The collaboration aims to build an electric battery charging network called Porsche Destination Charging in Singapore.
Singapore is considered as one of the most potential and developed countries in Southeast Asia. The Porsche Destination Charging network that was built will later aim to make it easier for electric car consumers.
The targeted battery charging point is the location of the lifestyle that is often visited by the people of Singapore. As the initial location, Porsche built 3 Charging Destinations at Gardens by The Bay, South Beach, and Sembawang Country Club.
These three places are predicted to be closed in January 2022. In the future, Porsche Destination Charging will also be built in 15 new locations.
Porsche and SP Group are also collaborating with City Developments Limited (CDL) to build a battery charging infrastructure. Later this collaboration with CDL will be located at City Square Mall and Quayside Isle.
The German company’s target to build battery charging stations is expected to have 51 stations by mid-2022. This makes Porsche Destination Charging the largest battery charging network in Singapore.
Although the name is Porsche Destination Charging, this facility can be enjoyed by all electric car users from various brands. This means that not only owners of Porsche’s electric cars can use it.
This collaboration with the SP Group is another collaboration that has been built by Porsche. Previously, they had also collaborated with Ionity, the largest battery charging provider in Europe.
This collaboration with Ionity has resulted in 7,000 charging points for electric car batteries in Europe. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG said if this is one of Porsche’s targets.
“In 2025, we hope that 50% of electric cars will be delivered worldwide. More than 80% of the cars will be ready for delivery by the end of this decade,” he said in an official broadcast.
This move makes Porsche want to become the largest electric battery charging provider in Singapore.
