Jakarta — Chairman of GAIKINDO Yohannes Nangoi said that all proceeds from ticket sales for the new GIIAS Surabaya 2021 car exhibition will be donated to help victims affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency, East Java.
This was conveyed in a written statement received by Carmudi, Monday (12/13/2021) yesterday.
“GAIKINDO on behalf of the Indonesian automotive industry has declared that it will hand over all ticket sales proceeds at the GIIAS Surabaya 2021 exhibition for victims of the Mount Semeru eruption,” he said.
He hoped that the donations could slightly ease the burden on the victims and accelerate the return to normal conditions of the surrounding community.
It was stated that this step was taken at the direction of the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.
To note, GIIAS Surabaya 2021 has officially ended on Sunday (12/12/2021) yesterday. This new car exhibition was recorded to be enlivened by 26,149 visitors since the first day it started, (8/12/2021).
The organizers assessed that GIIAS Surabaya 2021 would still prove to be a magnet for automotive lovers in Surabaya, even in a pandemic situation.
The enthusiasm of the people of East Java, especially Surabaya, for this exhibition is very high.
The organizers expressed their highest appreciation to all participants who took part, namely Audi, BMW, Daihatsu, DFSK, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, MG, Mitsubishi Motors, Suzuki, Toyota, VW, and Wuling.
Including for Honda Motor, Benelli, Llumar, and CPF1 from the two-wheeled motor vehicle industry sector and supporters.
GIIAS 2022 date
The series of GIIAS exhibitions will be held again next year which is planned to start on 11-21 August 2022 at ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency.
Followed by GIIAS Surabaya 2022 on September 11-18 at Grand City Convex, GIIAS Medan 2022 on October 5-9, and closed with GIIAS Makassar 2022 on November 16-20.
